COMPREHENSIVE CARE EXAMS
A regular, in-depth inspection of your mouth, teeth and jaw joints and muscles is recommended by the American Dental Association. These exams are typically performed at the first visit for new patients and every three years for existing patients, with periodic “recare” exams and cleanings in between. Comprehensive exams are necessary not only for maintaining good oral health, but also for evaluating an individual’s overall health. Oftentimes, early detection of medical conditions such as sinus problems, oral cancers, diabetes and cardiovascular disease is possible with a comprehensive oral exam.
PERIODIC "RECARE" EXAMS
Known by some as “checkups,” our “recare” exams are routinely scheduled every six months and are often performed along with cleaning visits. Recare exams are necessary for preventative dental care as well as to monitor an individual’s oral and overall health for changes that may occur between comprehensive care exams. At a recare exam, we will check you for cavities, problems with existing crowns, fillings, bridges, etc., gum and jaw problems and other tooth problems or irregularities. Recare exams also include screenings for oral cancer.
CLEANINGS
Everyone appreciates the fresh feeling of newly cleaned teeth! Our hygiene staff works diligently to make your visit pleasant and rewarding. Routine cleanings are scheduled along with your periodic “recare” exams, which we recommend occur every six months.
CHILDRENS' DENTISTRY
We recommend that kids be seen for their first examination by the age of 3. However, a parent may observe something unusual for the dentist to check prior to the age of 3. We have seen children as young as 7 days old.
